According to the statement of the British Ministry of Health, the total number of people who lost their lives from the virus increased to 127,860 with 6 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.

The number of daily cases, which was recorded as 4 thousand 330 last week, increased by 74 percent in a week and reached 7 thousand 540 today. Thus, the highest daily increase in cases was seen since February 27, when 7,434 cases were recorded.

The Public Health Agency of England announced that the “Delta” variant, which was first seen in India, has become the most dominant species in the country, surpassing the Alpha (England) variant.

Meanwhile, 136 thousand 802 first doses and 313 thousand 482 second doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

The total number of those who received two doses of vaccine reached 40 million 710 thousand 319, and the total number of those who received the second dose of vaccine reached 28 million 540 thousand 844. In the country, 77 percent of the adult population had the first dose and 54 percent had the second dose.
