According to the statement made by Mayor Ekrem Oran on his social media account in Çeşme district of İzmir, which is one of the important tourism centers of Turkey, with a population of 46 thousand 350, it was stated that no coronavirus cases were encountered as of yesterday.

All precautions were taken. Everyone did their part. Citizens can come to Çeşme easily. People can come to Çeşme with hope. “We are hopeful for the coming days. Çeşme will be very crowded in the coming days. All shopkeepers will smile,” he said.

‘WE HAVE BEEN SMART’
Noting that the municipality has taken the necessary precautions, Serdar Türel, who sells jewelry in Çeşme, said, “The cleaning works were quite good. I hope we will have a nice summer. The people of Çeşme acted very cautiously. The bans were followed, so the number of cases fell to zero. I think we acted smart. Our citizens should come here. But they should continue to be careful,” he said.

‘NUMBERS DOWN GRADUALLY DOWN’
Salih Tınaz, one of the tradesmen selling dove sandwiches in Çeşme, said that the citizens are complying with the measures, “Everyone stayed at their homes during the curfews, so the numbers gradually decreased. We are waiting for you in Cesme, which has become one of them,” he said.
Pita restaurant operator Selim Akbaykal said, “Our mayor stated that the cases have ended. We have not heard of any cases around us for a long time. There has been a density in Çeşme since the winter due to the pandemic. We have made all our preparations as tradesmen. Precautions have been taken well in Çeşme and because the settlement is more widespread. The distance was well maintained. Since public transportation was not much, the pandemic period was easier to overcome,” he said.
